Fun StuffNursery RhymesRow, Row, Row Your Boat
Row, row, row your boat, Gently down the stream. Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, Life is but a dream. A rowboat is one way to get around, and "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" is a type of song called "a round." A round is a song sung by two or more people, with each voice beginning the song at a different time. Although the voices are singing different words at any given time, they all blend together harmoniously. A
rowboat that is used to go back and forth to larger boats is often
called a dinghy. This sign at the harbor in Fernandina Beach, Florida,
always makes me smile. And it reminds me of this joke:A rowboat passed too close to a big Navy ship. The ship's captain picked up his bullhorn and yelled: "Are you crazy?!" The skipper of the rowboat replied, "No, just a little dinghy." Mother Osprey Poem: Row, Row, Row Your Boat, of course!
